Searchers have cleared acres of field and wooded areas but have had no sightings of David Clyde Morgan, the Wilmington, N.C., man authorities say pointed a handgun at a Geneseo Police officer during a Wednesday evening traffic stop, according to a mid-day update by Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty.
The search for Morgan continues in the area where he was last observed going into a cornfield, Dougherty said in a tweet.
Residents are asked to call 911 if they see anyone fitting Morgan’s description. Residents with other information may call (844) LCSO-TIP.
Morgan, 49, is white, five-foot, seven-inches tall, 200 lbs and has brown eyes. He was last seen wearing either a gray hoodie or a gray, long-sleeved T-shirt. He may also be wearing a gray baseball cap. Morgan is considered armed and dangerous.
The search has been ongoing since Wednesday following the incident which occurred a little before 6 p.m. Law enforcement officers from a multitude of agencies are involved in the manhunt.
During a briefing for media Thursday morning, Dougherty said officers were continuing to search an area south of the village of Geneseo adjacent to Route 63, which remains closed between Jones Bridge Road and Dewey Hill Road.
As he did during a Wednesday night briefing, Dougherty stressed that Morgan is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if sighted. Read more...
