Vehicles: Veh#1 2005 Dodge truck, MD registration 27T013
Accused: Suspect (At Fault)/ Driver Vehicle #1: Charles Allen Jerread
On 7/27/2017 at approximately 1238 hrs, troopers from the Berlin Barrack responded to the area of Rt 610 @ Murray Rd., Whaleyville, Worcester County regarding a motor vehicle collision.
The investigation revealed a 2005 Dodge Truck bearing MD registration 27T013, operated by Charles Allen Jerread (W/M, 66 yoa ) of Whaleyville, MD was traveling on Rt 610 when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a ditch.
Upon contacting Jerread, Senior Trooper Gordy detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person and noted his eyes to be red, bloodshot and glassy. Due to those observations, standardized field sobriety tests were administered to Jerread to which he performed poorly. Jerread was arrested for DUI and transported to the Berlin Barrack where he refused to intoximeter test.
Jerread did not suffer any injuries.
Jerread was issued citations for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol and negligent/ reckless driving.
No state property was damaged.
Jerread was released to a family member.
