Steuben County Sheriff's Deputies this morning released information on a vehicle crash Friday evening in Howard. Deputies said Preston Smith, 56, of Hornell was driving on County Road 70A when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole marker. He was taken to St. James Hospital, where Deputies arrested and charged him with driving while intoxicated and moving from a lane unsafely. Smith will answer the charged in court August 22.
