Man pleads guilty in Wellsville strangulation case
A state prison inmate was in Allegany County court today to plead guilty to an attempted strangulation count. According to a press release from the Allegany County District Attorney's Office, 30-year-old Adam Klodzinski entered a guilty plea to attempted strangulation. Prosecutors said Klodzinski attempted to strangulate a 15-year-old victim on July 25, 2014 in the Village of Wellsville. He was originally charged with assault and reckless endangerment, but those counts were dismissed. Judge Thomas Brown sentenced the man to a three year conditional discharge, issued an eight year order of protection and told the defendant he must abide by parole conditions when he is released from prison. Klodzinski was represented by Public Defender Barbara Kelley and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Mike Finn.Klodzinski is currently an inmate at Groveland Correctional, serving a 2-7 years term for felony criminal mischief stemming from an arrest in Allegany County.
