GREENWOOD, NY- Congressman Tom Reed announced that the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Co. # 1 Inc. has been awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program regional request grant for $355,722.
“When our fire departments and other first responders have the resources necessary to operate safely and efficiently, it makes our whole community safer. This grant will help the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company to better serve our friends and neighbors,” Reed said.
The AFG Program is one component in a coordinated effort to strengthen the Nation’s level of preparedness and ability to respond to fire and related hazards. The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) administers the grant program.
