Obituary: Loretta E. "Aunt Betty" Sisson, 98, Wellsviile and formerly of Obi
Loretta E. “Aunt Betty” Sisson, 98, a resident of Wellsville Manor Hills, and formerly of Obi, New York passed away Sunday, October 08, 2017 at Jones Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born on February 28, 1919, in Plainfield, New Jersey, she was a daughter of John A. and Julia Douglas Carney. In 1926, in Cuba, New York she married Floyd Sisson who predeceased her. She was later preceded in death by her longtime companion Robert W. Baldwin. She was a laborer for many years at Acme Electric. She was a member of the Wellsville Home Bureau, like to bowl, fish, and crochet. She loved her family and spending time with them most of all. Surviving are two sons, Jerry L. (Gail) Sisson of Texas and Floyd J. (Debra) Sisson, Jr .of Obi; a daughter, Joan (Jim) O’Connor of Florida; 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Art (Marjorie) Carney of Friendship, Richard “Dick” (Carolyn) Carney, of Friendship, Harry (Ruth) Carney of Friendship and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband and Robert W. Baldwin, she was preceded in death by A Son Gary L. Sisson, 2 Brothers John and Alfred, and 8 Sisters Mary, Lovina, Leona, Violet, Francis, Julia, Sarah, and Elizabeth and a nephew whom she raised as her own Clarence Merrifield. Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 10-11:00 A.M. at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Wayne Hart, pastor of West Clarksville Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in West Genesee Cemetery, Obi, New York. Memorial’s may be made to the West Clarksville Baptist Church, 9003 Daggett Hollow Rd., Bolivar, New York 14715.
