Police again called to Hartsville Town Board meeting
Yet again, police were called to the Hartsville Town Board meeting. Effective with last nights meeting, Supervisor John Bowles declared that no one, including elected officials, could speak unless gave permission. When board candidate Maddeline Parini kept asking questions, Bowles told her to leave. She refused and Bowles called the cops, again. Parini became silent and when the Deputy Sheriff arrived, tensions had eased. Parini was allowed to stay and no charges were filed. However, the Deputy decided to stay at the meeting.The local government dysfunction continued and the Board couldn't even agreed to approve the minutes from the last meeting. Only three of seven pre-filed agenda items were approved.
When the Board shifting its focus of next year's budget, Bowles cautioned that if spending was reined in substantially, there would be a noticeable tax increase next year.
