As the result of a lengthy investigation into various crimes in Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties, on November 2, 2017, SP Amity Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) arrested Christopher E. Herron, 36 of New Hudson, NY for Burglary 2^nd Degree (2 counts), Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4^th Degree (3 counts), Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5^th Degree, Unlawful Growing of Cannabis, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4^th Degree and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2^nd Degree.
On November 1, 2017, Amity-based State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and UF executed a search warrant at the Herron residence in the Town of New Hudson. As a result, nearly fifty items of stolen property were recovered that are directly linked to burglary complaints in the Town of New Hudson and also crimes in Cattaraugus County. The stolen property was found hidden in various areas of the residence.

Also while conducting the extensive search, a marijuana grow operation was discovered in a secret room in the garage area of the residence. The discovery led to the seizure of 282 marijuana plants, approx. 4 ounces of processed marijuana and various other drug paraphernalia.
As a result of Herron’s arrest,  six criminal cases involving the State Police are closed as well as cases in Cattaraugus County.
Herron was arraigned on the above charges in the Town of Friendship Court in front of Judge Szucs. Herron was remanded to Allegany County Jail in lieu of $75,000 cash bail and $150,000 bond.
Allegany County District Attorney Keith Slep and ADA Tom Fuoco, Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, State Police CNET, Olean Police Department, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office assisted in this investigation.
