Rita E. Stives  Loving Wife and Mother

Rita E. Stives, 64, of 3367 Madison Hill Rd., Wellsville, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Wellsville Manor Care Center after short illness. Born on December 3, 1952, in Wellsville, she was a daughter of William Frederick and was subsequently raised by her stepparents Francis and Clara Post Buck.  On August 9, 1992, in Little Genesee she married Howard Stives who survives.

She was a graduate of Portville Central School.  She had worked as a cook for Bolivar Central School prior to retiring due to ill health.  She loved all the children she met over the years.

Rita’s hobbies included cooking, gardening, hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with her family. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Tonya Skiver of Oklahoma City, OK, Dennis Skiver, Jr. of Nebraska, Howard Stives, Jr. of Olean,         Tracy Kozlowski of Williamsville, NY, Jennifer Stives of     Olean; Several Grandchildren; Two brothers, Roger Frederick of Nebraska, Richard Post of Las Vegas, Nevada; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her father and stepparents she was predeceased by a brother Robert Post. At Rita’s request there will be no visitation or funeral services.  A family gathering will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under direction of the Mark F.
