A fire Tuesday afternoon damaged a single story home at 8679 Mcmahon Road in Birdsall. Several area fire departments responded to the scene. Allegany County tax records show the home is owned by Colie and Deborah Schoonover. Fire crews remained at the scene for several hours. The Red Cross was requested to assist one adult female and five children ranging in age from 2-16. Fire investigators were also called to the home to determine the cause and origin of the blaze.
