WNY: Man arrested for Rape and official misconduct

On December 26, 2017 the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) arrested James W. Beam Jr., 41 of Silver Creek, NY for Rape 3rd degree and several counts of Official Misconduct.

Beam was charged following an investigation into an alleged unlawful personal relationship with an inmate while employed as a Correction Officer at Lakeview Shock Incarceration Correctional Facility.

Beam was issued an appearance ticket at the direction of the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office and is to appear at the town of Portland court in January 2018.

This case was a joint investigation by the New York State Police and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.
