Interstate 390: Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Bath man after a traffic stop on Interstate 390. On January 20, 2018 at approximately 5:00 p.m., Deputy Shawn Whitford, assigned to the Operation Safe Interstate Initiative, stopped a vehicle on Interstate 390 in the Town of Avon for numerous alleged vehicle and traffic law violations. The driver of the vehicle, 28-year-old Andrew S. Crosson, was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended NYS driver's license, according to a press release Crosson's license had been suspended five (5) times. Crosson was detained in order to investigate the violations.
The Deputy then discovered Crosson had allegedly concealed drugs on his person and began showing symptoms of his body absorbing the drugs. As a result, an ambulance was called to the scene. Crosson was transported to a hospital for treatment and while there, the drugs were recovered. In his possession, the release stated, were three bags of heroin and one bag of crack cocaine. Sheriff's Deputies obtained a warrant of arrest for Crosson consisting of 2 counts of felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, felony Tampering with Physical Evidence, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd degree, as well as the Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Upon Crosson's release from the hospital, Deputy Mike Wade and Deputy Mike Miller arrested him on the warrant. Crosson was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
