Winter storms take down tree's, power lines and WRN

It's been a long twenty-four hours. For some, it may be a long 48 hours. The forecasted winter storm began a little early Thursday. It was a cruel storm. The snow was heavy. The snow was rich with water. Some trees couldn't withstand the weight. Reminiscent to an ice storm in the early 1990's, you could almost watch and hear the limbs and trees snap.
At a time when this site should have been there, WRN too, fell victim to a loss of power, dead cell and other devices. WRN could only watch...until the screen faded. Of course, WRN has gobs of battery powered emergency radio's. They lasted until 3:45 a.m. Saturday. I could hear the action, I just couldn't report the potential life-saving information.
I kept glancing at National Grid, NYSEG and RG&E outage reports - they were staggering. This is one story WRN was forced to sit out.
