Hornell High School Choirs Strike Gold

On Saturday, April 7th, the Hornell High School Choirs performed at the National Choir Competitions in Philadelphia, PA.  The achieved great success on the whole as well as well as indivduals, scoring 4 First Place (Gold) awards, two overall best performing choir honors and 2 individual awards.

The tally is as follows:

The 2018 Competition Awards Collective Results are:

GOLD 1st Place - SH Choir
GOLD 1st Place - Treble Choir
GOLD 1st Place - Chamber Choir
GOLD 1st Place - Jazz Choir
Best Overall Ensemble
Best Choral Program

Individually, 2 members of the choir earned honors.
Kuryn Newark earned the Maestro Award for the best overall solo performance in the competition.

Weldon Cooper earned the Ovation Award as the student that best represents integrity, fellowship and dedication to the choral community.

Congratulations to the entire Hornell High School Choral Program and the individual performers that earned honors.  The parents and community are very proud of you!
