Obituary: David H. Barney, 76, Wellsville

David H. Barney, 76, a lifelong resident of Hallsport, NY, died Monday, May 21, 2018 in Wellsville Manor Care Center, Wellsville, NY. Born May 25, 1941, in Wellsville, he was the son of Harold C. and Marian E. Foster Barney. David was a dairy farmer and produced maple syrup with his father and his brothers on the family farm. He was an avid arrowhead collector and enjoyed local history.

Surviving are:  four brothers, Walter Barney of Hallsport, Wallace (Connie) Barney of Andover, William (Cheryl) Barney and Lavant (Carol) Barney, both of Wellsville; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Janet Ruth Barney.

Services will be private.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
