Allegany County Churches Schedule July Prayer Gatherings
Belfast Free Methodist Church will be the site tomorrow night for the first of the remaining July Friday night prayer gatherings of Allegany County Journey to Transformation movement churches.The weekly Friday night prayer gatherings are directed toward a growing multi-church emphasis toward renewal of minds and hearts of individuals and families for county and communities transformation through prayer for the host and other churches and Christian organizations, individuals, the community, county and more.
An additional weekly event will be at the same times July 20 at Genesis Bible Church, 4193 State Route 19 South, Belmont at Scio and July 27 at Brookside Wesleyan Church, 3469 Andover Road (State Route 417), Wellsville.
A final twice-a-month Sunday night prayer, praise and worship gathering, with live music, will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 22 at The Presbyterian Church of Wellsville, 68 North Main Street.
These rotating location sessions focus on combating issues of addiction, abuse, racism, suicide, poverty, family dysfunction and more that pastors say are extremely serious issues throughout this area, the United States and the world. These often include focuses on a variety of issues such as families, schools, veterans, economic vitality, alcohol and drug addictions, the positive aspect of the Celebrate Recovery ministry in churches and the county jail, and others.
Ongoing public prayer sessions during the week for individual and community concerns also are held from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. each weekday morning at Knights Creek Evangelical Methodist Church, 2987 Knights Creek Road (County Road 9), Scio; 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesdays at the Belfast Free Methodist Church, 11 Chestnut Street; and 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays at the Powerhouse Youth Center, 23 West Main Street, Fillmore.
