Obituary: Chad J. Nichols, 28, Belfast

BELFAST — Chad J. Nichols, of Old State Road, died Thursday (July 26, 2018) in Cuba. Born March 7, 1990, in Wellsville, he was the son of Gordon Nichols and Renee Hotchkiss. Chad attended Cuba-Rushford High School. He worked with his father as a heavy equipment operator, Gordon J. Nichols Excavating of Rushford. He later was employed in construction with Allegany Greenhouses Inc., building green houses around the country. He enjoyed turkey and bow hunting, along with fishing. Surviving are his father of Belfast; his mother of Mississippi; his son, Carter J. Nichols and his son’s mother Corrie Emmons of Fillmore; a stepsister, Andrea Gast of Ohio; a stepbrother, Makiah Bray of Machias; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may gather with the family from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 1, 2018) at the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home, 7 N. Main St., Franklinville. A memorial dinner will follow at 6 p.m. at the Farmersville Community Church. Memorials may be made to the Farmersville Community Church. Online condolences can be sent to
