Cattaraugus County woman accused of seriously injuring 4-month-old

A woman is in the Cattaraugus County Jail on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond for allegedly causing serious injury to a young child. Sheriff’s deputies arrested 23-year-old Makayla Mix of South Authority Road in Killbuck. She has been charged with felony 1st degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. According to a press release, Mix allegedly caused injury to a 4-month old child. The injury happened on August 3rd at Mix’s home. Deputies did not say how the injuries were caused. The child’s condition was not released. Further court action is pending.
