Coudersport-based state police this afternoon released a crash report from August 3rd. The one-car pile-up happened at 4:49 p.m. on Genesee Mills Road in Bingham Township. All crash occupants are name protected because of their youthfulness.Troopers said a 17-year-old Ulysses boy was driving his 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt at an "excessive speed" when he lost control on a straight section of highway. Then, according to the public information release..."The car became airborne and landed off the right shoulder of the roadway at a 45- degree angle. Once back on the roadway, Operator 1 attempted to correct his positioning but was unsuccessful. Unit 1 then travelled across the eastbound lane subsequently hitting an embankment located off the eastern side of the roadway. After hitting the embankment, Unit 1 rolled an unknown number of times, partially ejecting Passenger’s 2 and 3. Unit 1 came to final rest on the driver’s side. Passenger 2 and Passenger 3 suffered minor injuries and were taken to Jones Memorial Hospital for further medical evaluation. Troopers were assisted on scene by Genesee Fire & EMS, and Tri­Town EMS. Unit "1 was towed by Gaines Garage." The occupants, other than the driver, were identified only as:


Passenger 1: 17-year-old male from Harrison Valley - not injured.
Passenger 2: 16-year-old male from Harrison Valley-taken to Jones Memorial.
Passenger 3: 16-year-old make from Genesee - taken to Jones Memorial.
The driver was charged by state police with reckless driving.
