Boyde to exit as Allegany County Administrator

In the very near future, Allegany County will begin its search for a new county administrator. Timothy Boyde, who has held the job since June 6, 2016, says he won't be seeking reappointment to the post. "We will advertise for the position in the near future," Boyde told Wellsville Regional News (WRN) this morning. Boyde, a Wellsville resident, is selling his home and returning to State College, PA where he will be married next month. Boyde has spent 35 years in government service, primarily in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and New York. He has agreed to continue helping "until mid-February" while his replacement is confirmed by the county legislature. Another change in his office included the hiring of a new deputy administrator. John DiPasquale of the Williamsville, NY area, began his new duties on Tuesday. Speaking of DiPasquale, Boyde said he "brings a wealth of experience" to the position...having held several high ranking government jobs.
When WRN asked Boyde what he felt his biggest accomplishments have be, he humbly said "it's not about me." He did say that he was proud to be part of a group who worked to rehabilitate the 3rd floor of the county building on Court Street. "We did it without borrowing any money," he said. The Administrator said he was also proud in the reduction in the property tax rate...the largest, he believed, in the state last year. Boyde also beamed with his role in the efforts to combat the heroin and opioid crisis in the county, saying "I'm very proud of what I have been a part of." He added, "it's been a great ride for me."
Moving forward, Boyde says he has no plans (other than getting married and enjoying some travel time). He concluded by saying "it's time for reflection."
