Man sentenced in Allegany County road rage incident, felony dismissed
There will be no jail time in a road rage incident in which a 65-year-old man was injured during the confrontation. The incident occurred May 3rd on Friendship Street in Bolivar. Stephen Blue, 32, of Bolivar was originally charged with felony 2nd degree assault. The charge was eventually negotiated down to aggravated harassment. In Allegany County court today, Blue was sentenced to two years probation. Judge Terry Parker also ordered him to pay $293 in restitution, and assessed him a $50 DNA fee and a $200 court surcharge.According to the District Attorney's office, Blue, with intent to cause serious physical injury to the victim, struck the 65-year-old in the head several times and threw him to the ground following the "road rage" incident. The victim suffered a contusion and a cut to the head which required medical treatment. Blue was represented by J.R. Santana Carter, Public Defender. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Fuoco.
