Allegany County offers "sharps containers" at no charge

Allegany County, in conjunction with the NYS Aids Institute and the ESAP Program, offers Sharps containers, at no charge, to all Allegany County Residents. These containers are available at all Allegany County Transfer Stations as well as all Allegany County pharmacies. These containers are for the disposal of lancets, needles and other medical related sharps products. When full, these containers may be placed in a Sharps Kiosk at any Allegany County Transfer Station. These containers are NOT for the disposal of any radioactive or chemotherapeutic materials.
