Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on April 22, 2019, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office Arson Investigation Team arrested Michael P. Shepard, age 30, of Lamphere Court, Corning, New York. It is alleged that Mr. Shepard intentionally started a fire in close proximity to a vacant structure on Faucett Road, Bath, New York, causing the structure to ignite and result in a total loss. Mr. Shepard was charged with Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree, a class A Misdemeanor. Mr. Shepard was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Bath Court at a later date.
Sheriff Allard thanks the Steuben County Fire Investigator and the Emergency Management Office for their assistance in this investigation.
