Travel Advisory - State Route 417, Allentown, Allegany County

The New York State Department of Transportation announced today that work will begin the week of April 15, 2019 to restore pedestrian ramps at the intersections of State Route 417 with Church Street and Melvina Street in the Hamlet of Allentown, Allegany County. Work will reconstruct pedestrian ramps to be compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards at these intersections. Project is anticipated to be completed in May, 2019.

During construction, motorists will encounter shoulder closures and flaggers.  Pedestrians can expect portions of sidewalks to be barricaded with signs directing passage through work areas. It is imperative that motorists remember this season to drive carefully through the many highway and bridge construction zones they will encounter.
