Cuba: Smoke alarms saves family of four - home destroyed by fire
A smoke detector saved a family of four after flames ripped through a two-story home in the Village of Cuba. Officials say the flames broke out about 4 a.m. today at 15 Medbury Street, right behind the Cuba fire hall. Flames were shooting from the structure when responders arrived. Fire Chief Nick Sweet told WRN firefighters from two counties brought the flames under control by 8:30 a.m. and the fire was out by 10 a.m. He said " two nearby houses were in danger, but they were saved." Two adults and two children inside the home were evaluated by Medical Transport Service at the scene. The American Red Cross was called in to assist. The house was "a total loss," according to fire chief Nick Sweet. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation by Allegany County Fire Investigators. According to Allegany County tax records, the home was owned by James and Tabitha Dyche.from Wellsville Regional News (dot) com http://bit.ly/2JP14X5
