UPDATE on fatal pedestrian crash in Steuben County
STATE POLICE RELEASE MORE DETAILS ON FRIDAY'S FATAL ACCIDENT IN BATH:State Police arrested the driver in Friday's fatal accident, Tonia Smith, age 45, of Painted Post for Vehicular Manslaughter 2nd Degree and Driving While Intoxicated. Killed in the accident Friday, was Donald Masti, age 56, from Bath.
The investigation is continuing at this time.

On May 3, 2019, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the State Police in Bath responded to a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian on St-Rte 415 in the town of Bath. A pedestrian was attempting to cross St-Rte 415 when the operator of a westbound motor vehicle struck the pedestrian.
The injured party was taken to Ira Davenport Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The operator of the motor vehicle was also taken to the hospital and is being interviewed by State Police.
Alcohol may be a contributing factor and more information will be released when it becomes available.
