Wellsville Fire Company and Dyke Street Engine Company explore merger options
PRESS RELEASEIn a unified and joint effort, the Wellsville Fire Company, Inc. and Dyke Street Engine Company, Inc. would like to announce that they are exploring merger options. After careful consideration for several years, preliminary voting has occurred in both fire companies to support further exploring merger talks and alternative options for how services will be provided to the Wellsville residents.
Executive members of both fire companies will spend the next several months in discussion and negotiations to explore all options and opportunities that may help the fire companies to provide a better level of Fire Protection Service to the residents of Wellsville while saving taxpayer dollars. Both companies recognize the challenges facing our local economy and the citizens that continue to call Wellsville our home. We will work closely with both Town and Village officials as we gather information and attempt to derive at the best solution as to how to best serve our Fire Companies and the people of Wellsville, we are proud to protect.
We would like to thank all of our active and life members for their unified support in our attempts to move forward with a plan to better serve our community.
