Alfred State: Perkins and Bathgate Named Athletes of the Week

Alfred State junior volleyball player Kiara Perkins (Coudersport, PA) and freshmen cross country runner Gavin Bathgate (East Rochester) have been named the Alfred State Athletes of the Week.
Perkins helped lead the volleyball to a 2-1 record at the Cazenovia Invitational this past weekend. She led the team with 39 kills. She had at least nine kills in all three matches and had 21 in the victory over the host school. She also chipped in 59 digs and eight service aces.
Bathgate was the top Alfred State finisher in his first collegiate race as the Pioneers finished 7th as a team at the St. John Fisher Invitational. He averaged 5:41 per mile as he finished 25th in 21:08.4.
