On Thursday, Democrat Tracy Mitrano announced her second bid to unseat GOP congressman Tom Reed of Corning. However, Mitrano isn't the only Democrat in the mix. Earlier this week, Dr. Scott Noren of Ithaca said he also plans to seek the Democratic nomination. Dr. Noren is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. On his website, he says... Scott Noren’s a husband and father of a special needs daughter, and of two other daughters and a son. He has been an advocate and provider for special needs healthcare for over 20 years, and is an opioid issue expert. He is also a U.S. Army vet, an athlete in Olympic Weightlifting and a firm 2nd Amendment advocate. He is a businessman that knows we are taxing businesses out of NY State and the Southern Tier which needs to stop.
His website outlines his issues and it points to his differences with Mitrano. In 2018, he ran for U.S. Senate.
