News Release: Corning Announces FDA Approval of Valor® Glass for Packaging of Marketed Drug Product
Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) today announced that a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer has received FDA approval of Corning Valor® Glass for use as a primary package for a marketed drug product.Valor Glass has been specifically designed for pharmaceutical applications, and this approval makes Valor Glass the first and only fundamentally new glass composition to be approved by the FDA since the advent of borosilicate glass more than 100 years ago.
This innovative glass packaging solution has been designed to enable superior chemical durability and improve resistance to breakage, damage, and particulate contamination. These attributes can help enhance manufacturing productivity by enabling increased throughput and quality assurance for pharmaceutical manufacturers.
