Public Hearing set for Solar Energy Project in Town of Independence

The Allegany County Industrial Development Agency has set a public hearing for a proposed solar energy project. The hearing will be held at the Whitesville Fire Hall on December 27th at 10 a.m. Toronto-based OYA Solar want to construct a 5 megawatt solar energy generating facility on two parcels at 1644 Independence Road. The project also includes a 15 mWh battery storage energy facility. The IDA will explain the project during the hearing and then take public comment. The IDA says it hasn't yet decided whether or not it will assist in the project.
