Although Allegany County didn’t receive a foot of snow Sunday and isn't forecast overnight…the precipitation it did receive was worse. The county was sprayed with sleet and freezing rain turning any paved surface into a skating rink. State Troopers spent the day responding from one crash to another. Some of the crashes involved injury. Law Enforcement across the Southern Tier issued Travel Advisories. Allegany County remains under a Winter Weather Advisory but just a few miles to our East, Steuben County is now under a Winter Storm Warning with potential snow accumulations of 6-10 inches. Since the weather doesn’t recognize county boundaries, residents in the eastern section of Allegany County should remain alert.
