Obituary: Katheleen M. “Kathy” Tilton, 64, Ulysses, PA
Katheleen M. “Kathy” Tilton, 64, Ulysses, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 8, 2020 in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, surrounded by her loving family. Born December 26, 1955, in Corning, NY, she was the daughter of Carlton L. and Reha “Betty” Mahnke Hand. On December 31, 1974, in Prattsburgh, NY, she married her best friend, Donald E. Tilton, Jr., who survives. After a disabling workplace injury, Kathy devoted her life to serving her community. She was an active member of the Ulysses Free Methodist Church, Tri-Town Volunteer Firemen’s Auxiliary, and served as president of the Ulysses Area Improvement Association. Kathy was honored as Ulysses Citizen of the Year in 2009. She enjoyed baking, organizing and catering events, and crafting. She cherished time with her grandchildren. Surviving besides her husband, Don, are: her mother, Reha Hand of Mills; three children, Christian (Genny) Tilton of Coudersport, Tonya Peet of Knoxville, and Eric Tilton of Eden, NY; several grandchildren; many siblings from the Hand and Goerner families; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Carlton Hand; a brother, Mark D. Hand; a grandson, Jacob Tilton; and her foster parents, Arnold and Leona Goerner. Friends may call at the Ulysses Free Methodist Church on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, with a Memorial Service following at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Marty Zdrojewski will officiate. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ulysses Free Methodist Church, Tri-Town Volunteer Firemen’s Auxiliary, or the Ulysses Area Improvement Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Crematory, Ulysses, PA. Online condolences may be expressed at www.olneyfoust.com.
