Livingston County: Burglary Charges for Husband and Wife
MOUNT MORRIS - Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of two Nunda, NY residents on felony burglary and larceny charges after an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
On February 28, 2020 Sheriff’s Investigator Connor Sanford arrested and charged 62-year-old Richard L. Zerpentine and 62-year-old Peggy Sue Zerpentine with felony Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree.
It is alleged that on February 26, 2020 Richard and Peggy Sue Zerpentine entered a home on Creek Road and stole a couch and a chair valued at over $1,800. It is further alleged that Richard and Peggy Sue did not have permission from the owner to enter the home or remove any items.
Richard and Peggy Sue were turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention. The offenses only qualified for pre-arraignment detention under the NYS Justice Reform Act as the victim of the crime requested an order of protection but the charges did not qualify for the suspects to be held on bail.
Richard and Peggy Sue were later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Mount Morris Justice David Provo. The Judge did release both on their own recognizance. Sergeant Joseph Breu and Deputy Connor Boor of the Patrol Division, and Deputy Michael Donals of the Forensic Identification Unit, assisted with the investigation.
