Village of Wellsville Code Enforcement Officer Jo Fenske has submitted her retirement paperwork, effective July 1st. Mayor Randy Shayler said "she will be missed." Fenske has served the village for about nine years and Shayler said she has done "a very, very good job." The mayor said her replacement "...needs to have her capabilities...and more."
Shayler said the job needs to be focused on the construction of multi-story buildings to blight, although Shayler admitted the priority right now "is blight, no question." COVID-19 has scaled back new construction and Shayler said the focus needs to be cleaning up neighborhoods. The village board will address the position at upcoming meetings.
