Fire strikes at Birdsall Highway Building

The Birdsall Highway building wasn't destroyed, but it was damaged by fire Thursday afternoon. Jeff Luckey is the Allegany County  Fire Coordinator...he said a back-hoe caught fire,  which was linked to the building...and the flames quickly to the outside of the building. Birdsall, Angelica, FAST Team 1, Short Tract, Canaseraga and Fillmore units were called in. Luckey said the building was just opened from storm damaged a year ago. Equipment inside was not damaged. Luckey said the firefighters did a "great job" at stopping the flames. The cause remain under investigation.
