Wellsville homicide: New charge filed against teenager

A new felony charge has been filed against a Wellsville teenager, one of eight people facing charges in the death of a Wellsville man in his Main Street apartment March 21st. On Saturday, Amity-based State Police charged a 17-year-old boy with felony second-degree assault. He was previously charged with murder, manslaughter, kidnapping, gang assault and conspiracy. Last month, the Allegany County court publicly identified the teenager as Justin L. Darden. The court released unredacted indictment documents, saying the teen could be identified based on the seriousness of the charges.

Last week, additional counts were also leveled against two other Wellsville residents. Court action is pending for all eight defendants.
