 The lights went out for a good chunk of Allegany County Wednesday afternoon. At 2 p.m., NYSEG reported 765 customers without electric. Here is the breakdown:

Alfred: 10

Alfred Station: 64

Almond: 221

Angelica: 21

V/Belmont: 31

Birdsall: 8

Ward: 200

West Almond: 291 

Meanwhile, RG&E reported 8 customers without power. Those were confined to the Town of Amity.

The utilities estimate service should be restored before 5 p.m.
