Allegany County United Way announces they are now accepting Letters of Intent for 2021-22 Funding Cycle
Allegany County United Way (ACUW) is inviting local human service agencies to submit a letter of intent for the 2021-22 grant cycle. According to ACUW Director, Amanda Joyce-Phelps, the Letter of Intent is the first step in the funding proposal process. Qualifying organizations must be able to demonstrate how an Allegany County United Way partnership would provide a positive impact in our community within the area of Health, Education, Income Stability and/or Critical Needs.
To be eligible for United Way funding, agencies must provide services in Allegany County, and must hold a 501[c] (3) designation from the Internal Revenue Service, which signifies not-for-profit status. Agencies must have an operating board of directors and established fiscal oversight controls. Other factors considered in funding eligibility include the portion of the agency’s budget spent on programming and access to other funding sources. Top priority is given to agencies that demonstrate the impact their programs have within the county with documented outcome data.
Letters of intent to request funding are due February 28, 2021 Directions for submission are on the Allegany County United Way website at www.acuwny.org.
