FRIENDSHIP - A collision involving a motorcycle and car on I-86 left the biker badly injured. At 6:38 a.m., Allegany County 911 sent fire and EMS crews from Cuba and Friendship to the scene in the eastbound. The operator was reportedly thrown from the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. The eastbound lane between Cuba and Friendship was shut down, allowing Mercy Flight to land near the crash scene. At 7:45 a.m., the helicopter departed for Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo. State police believe the stretch of I-86 will be closed for an extended time as troopers reconstruct the crash. There were no apparently injuries to the vehicle operator. State police have not yet released the identities of those involved.
