Cuba: Convicted rapist receives state prison sentence

An Allegany County judge Friday sentenced a Sardinia man to prison for rape. Judge Parker ordered  29-year-old Richard Baek to serve three years behind bars. He must also serve ten years of post-release supervision. Prosecutors said the on March 6, 2018 in the Town of Cuba, Baek engaged in sexual intercourse with another person without consent. A jury convicted the man of third-degree rape. The court also issued a three year order of protection, fined him a $1,000 sex offender fee, $850 sex offender registration fee, a $325 court surcharge and a $50 DMA fee. The case was prosecuted by J. Thomas Fuocco, Assistant District Attorney.
